My Day as a Wedding DJ and Host: Behind the Scenes
My day as a wedding DJ and host begins long before the guests arrive. After loading my van with sound equipment, lighting, and all the essentials, I drive to the wedding venue and get to work setting up for each part of the day—whether it’s the ceremony, drinks reception, or evening party. As the host, I ensure everything runs smoothly, from welcoming guests to coordinating with the venue and other suppliers to ensure every detail aligns with the couple’s vision.
One of the highlights of my role is engaging guests with interactive fun during the wedding breakfast. A popular choice is the Newlywed Game, where the bride and groom answer fun questions about each other to the delight of the guests. This icebreaker creates laughter and sets the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable celebration. Along with other games like the sitting game, Mr. and Mrs. quiz, and wedding lotto, these activities add a personal touch to the event.
I guide the couple through key moments like speeches, the cake cutting, the father-daughter dance, and the first dance, ensuring everything goes off without a hitch. By the time the evening party kicks off, the dance floor is packed, and everyone’s having the time of their lives. Being a wedding DJ and host means being part of these magical moments and making sure the couple and their guests leave with memories that last a lifetime.
